SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth -- West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor, who was arrested in late December following an altercation with a police sergeant, will return to court on February 9 to answer charges of improper conduct, assaulting the police and resisting arrest.

MUMBAI, India (CMC) - Eight West Indians, including former Test captain Ramnaresh Sarwan, have been picked for the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction later this month. Sarwan and other current West Indies players Kemar Roach and Sulieman Benn made the cut yesterday for the IPL auction on January 19.

VICE-PRESIDENT of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Dave Cameron has come out in defence of the Board's decision to shorten this season's regional four-day tournament. The WICB has been bombarded with criticism since its decision to revert to a six-round format, after last year's round-robin form was hailed as being the right move forward for the region. Some cricket experts have also questioned the wisdom of the introduction of day-night matches and the use of pink balls for the first time for the region's domestic four-day tournament.
